What is the Movie Parody Contest?

The Movie Parody Contest is a contest to make parodies of upcoming movies that will be in theaters. While having fun and being creative, you will also have the opportunity to win prizes.  The current movies that can be parodied are listed at the bottom. The contest will be challenging because the movies chosen have not been released so you will have to make the parody based on limited information.

Please take a few seconds to answer the polls on the right. Your answers will affect how this competition is ran in the future.

Prizes

Each movie is a separate competition with separate prizes. For example, if you win the best parody for one movie, you get one grand prize, if you win for two movies, you get two grande prizes. In addition to the prizes, you can gain recognition among the film community and have work to add to your portfolio. Current prizes are:

$300 cash prize per parody that wins if the winners are 18 years of age or older

$300 Best Buy gift card  per parody that wins if the winners are under the age of 18

Top 5 per parody will be listed on the site to have their profiles promoted and will receive recognition for their work

Prizes will increase depending on the success of the first few competitions.

How To Enter

1. Upload your parody video to ParodyBox before the deadline

Then email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with the following information:

1. Name of the Parody
2. Link to the uploaded file
3. Name of the original movie
4. People who were involved in making the parody
5. Description of the Parody

Afterwards, we will post a link to your parody with the information you provided us for others to view and rate.

Rules

1. Have your project submitted by the deadline.
2. Make sure the video time is less than 10 minutes
3. Follow the rules and try to stick to the guidelines that are listed in the site's Rules/Guidelines.

Judging Criteria

Judging will be done by the community. The person with the highest number of votes wins. Voting will take place for three days after the deadline. Judging should be based on the following criteria:

1. Suitability of choice of music
2. Suitability of clips used or suitability of actors and scenes used
3. Clarity of sound
4. Editing Skills
5. Originality
6. Overall Impression
