What motivated you to make your first parody, "Hitler commente les parodies"? I made it because I wanted to pay a tribute to all the Untergangers that had been struck so hard in last April's crackdown. Two weeks after or so, the number of views begun to go up higher and higher when it got quoted in a dozen French speaking online newspapers. They cited it as some parodists response to the crackdown. It came as a total surprise and I guess that's how it all started for good. And what motivates you to keep making the parodies? Without the great feedback from people watching my work, I'm not sure if I would have gone that far. It is their comments and approval that keep me doing this kind of vids and give me the will to go even forward. I must admit that I have lots of fun making these parodies. It has become my greatest hobby, allowing me to unleash my creativity, play jokes on this awesome movie and practice some kind of absurd, Monty Pythonish humour, which is my favorite. What would you say is your favourite parody to date by you? I'd say "Hitler Enters Fegelein cycle race" is one of my top faves. On the one hand, because I find the storyline so funny and nonsensical that it makes me laugh every time I watch it and, on the other hand, because that's where I created for the first time, sophisticated FX of my own who took me a lot of work and patience for I could only use WMM and Photoshop at the time. Which other Unterganger inspires you the most? I have found most of my inspiration from the awesome work of Hitlerrantsparodies, Moarhitlerparodies, Vzorkic, Kevinjanssen21 and Bossimias. I would say that their vids helped me a great deal to understand the true spirit of the Downfall parodies and, from there, to fly with my own wings. I should also like to mention TheSilverUniverse and Shomronon for their outstanding command of special effects which has also been of valuable help. When did you realise you were becoming famous? It took me a while to realise I was getting there for one reason. I'm overly critical of my work and I tend to only see its flaws. It's when guys such as Benad361, Electronic897, Agetube83, 4red4rum, VenomFrogX or JRaygor began to comment on my videos and give a positive feedback that knew I was beginning to make a go of it. When the cream of the top parodymakers decided to subscribe to my channel, I felt I had crossed a new milestone. Who is your favourite character in the bunker? Well, it's definitely Albert Speer, the bunker's "Pimp Daddy" as Shutuplawrence calls him. Why? I like this guy because he always manages to remain aloof from the fray. His well groomed appearance combined to his relaxed, leisurely way to stroll within the Bunker make him stand out from the others. He's attractive to women, he's also influential and can talk sense into the Führer and being listened to by him. Do you have an idol that you are inspired by in life? If so, who? I don't have a particular person in mind but I admire people who, starting from scratch, fulfill their dreams by dint of commitment, work and passion. Those people who are confident in themselves and in the others and who can rise up again when they fail and then pass on their know-how and the keys to their success to other people. What do you do when you're not making parodies? Apart from the humdrum job, I enjoy spending some time on computers and browse the Web in seek of any kind of information just because I'm curious. I'm also an avid reader with an interest in History and particularly, everything in relation to the WWII, the cold war period and the former Soviet Union. I'm also fond of long hikes that clear my mind like nothing else. What would you say to a new Unterganger who isn't very well known? Basically, Have fun! Focus on the storyline, the editing and the subtitles. Also, check out what other parodymakers are doing and get some inspiration from their work. Try to be funny and original. Don't be shy and send some of your vids to top parodymakers. I did it sometimes and it worked! Also, comment on other Untergangers vids. For instance, If MrLJWJ hadn't commented on one of my vids, I would never have spotted him and been able to promote him. |
